Toy Story 3 Landfill Play Set

With its release in June 2010, Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 3 has been the inspiration for another group of popular toys that will most definitely fly off the shelves this holiday season. One of these toys is the Toy Story 3 Landfill Play Set made by Fisher Price and part of the famous Imaginext toy line. The play set recreates the scene at the end of the movie where Buzz Lightyear is trapped and in terrible danger at the Tri-Cities Dump, and is rescued by Woody and the rest of their friends. The scene ends with the toys escaping the dumps incinerator and finding a new home.

There are three levels of play in this set, each recreating specific parts of the scene from the movie. A large scoop dumps the toys into a sorter; the sorter puts them on a conveyer belt. The conveyer belt moves the toys from one level to the next. The final level of the set is the incinerator, and kids have to quickly rescue the toys, moving them to safety with the crane.

The Toy Story 3 Landfill Play Set is a large set that is geared towards children 3 to 6 years of age. The set has rounded edges, and easy access to all moving parts including the conveyer belts and the grappling hook, dump basket, and incinerator trap. Included with the set are a Buzz Lightyear figure, three green aliens, and a Lottso bear figure. Figures are 2 inch scale figures, and suitable for ages three and up. The set also comes with a moving bulldozer.

So far, parents have given this toy incredible reviews. They appreciate the rounded corners on the set, and the chunky size of the moving parts. Kids seem to enjoy creating their own Toy Story adventure every time they play. Kids can start at the incinerator working their way to the conveyer belt, or vice versa. The Landfill Play Set is also interchangeable with other action figures available from the movie. While it only comes with Buzz, Lottso, and the aliens Woody and Ham both move easily down the conveyer belt as well.

This is a great buy for anyone wanting to give the little one a creative way to occupy his or her time. The sturdy plastic, kid safe edges, and chunky figurines are what most parents have come to expect from Pixar and Disney alike. The ability of the child to creatively make up his/her own adventure, differently every time, makes The Toy Story 3 Landfill Play Set a great toy. The Fisher-Price Dora Fiesta Favorites Kitchen is recommended for children age 24 months to 6 years. However, my 18 month old daughter absolutely adores this toy. She has a very short attention span like most toddlers, but she will happily play with this kitchen for at least 30 minutes at a time.

The kitchen comes with a lot of accessories, including food, cookware, recipe cards, a phone, and various utensils. With these accessories, a child can create four recipes - an ice cream sundae, tacos, Huevos Rancheros, or a hamburger. My 7 year old was so excited to get this kitchen. He had been wanting one for quite awhile. He really wanted a "boy" kitchen, but since he like Diego and Dora, he was ok with this. It's the perfect size too. It's big enough so that he can feel like it's a real kitchen, yet small enough that I can easily push it up against his bedroom wall. It's bright and cheery and talks! Even before here father found a screw driver to put this together, out three year old found the talking parts and started repeating the Spanish.
